Seminars are educational events focused on imparting knowledge and sharing key information/ insights on certain subject matter/ topics for discussions.
Seminars consist of a presenter/ facilitator who may be an expert, lecturer or thought leader in a certain field of knowledge or industry.
Business Seminars can be regarded as educational events focused on imparting knowledge and sharing key industry insights on certain subject matter/ topics for discussions relating to certain industry or field of work.
Seminar events are conducted at a physical venue such as conferences centre, and Webinars are conducted online using modern event tech platforms such as Zoom Events, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and custom virtual event platforms.
- Seminars are focused more on imparting knowledge using speech and multi-media presentation slides.
- Workshops are more hands-on, focused on skills development, and may include the activities such as assessment tests, requiring the participants to perform certain tasks to demonstrate their understanding of certain subjects they partaking course on.
- Seminars can be a subset of a conference programme, and yet, conference programmes can be complex, including multiple subsets “aka” sessions, i.e. plenary sessions, breakouts sessions which may be seminars/workshops, panel discussions, etc.
- Seminars may have one or two presenters/facilitators, and conferences may have more than 2 or twenty presenters/speakers.
- Seminar duration can be 1 to 2 days, and conference duration may be from 3 to 5 days.
